“I haven’t been showing my face much, but I’ve been using my time efficiently to get to know the area much better.” Fate lets out a melancholy sigh.

“I should really try to be more social.”
“I haven’t been showing my face much, but I’ve been using my time efficiently to get to know the area much better.” Fate lets out a melancholy sigh.

“I should really try to be more social.”
“So… it’s to not know things?”
Why was Yoshika’s new friend being so fidgety? Yoshika wasn’t doing anything wrong. At least, she didn’t think she was. She was trying to act just like Seiga taught her to, yet she wasn’t getting praised. It was unsettling, at the very least. “There are a lot of things I don’t know. So does that mean I’m confused? Hey, Fate, do you know things? Do you know where this is? This isn’t Yoshika’s home. Where are we?”
“It’s not exactly, ‘not knowing something’, but it isn’t too far off from that either.”
Fate gave a nervous smile, perhaps trying to explain it more clearly wouldn’t help the girl make more sense of things. It was best to leave things simple for the time being.
“It’s not my home either, we’ve been brought to this place, rather out of the blue in fact, but it’s very nice. And the people here all seem to be very kind, so far anyhow. I’d very much like to see my friend here though…”
She let out a sigh, shrugging her shoulders.
“I… Can’t quite recall the name… Ar— Uuuh… Hmm…” Fate was confused too it seemed.
Arietta wondered if they were a good person but after hearing what they had to say she supposed they were.
“Li-like…how I am…?” She never really had to interact with humans asides from the ones who had been her allies and her enemies so that was easy enough. If she talked to them it was either about orders or about other things so talking to all of these people had confused her. Arietta wasn’t sure how to handle it but it was nice to know that others weren’t as great as her at speaking to people.
Not knowing what else to say she just nodded.
“Well, not exactly like you of course. I haven’t known you for long enough to say that, but in that one aspect we could be similar.”
Fate, again gave a kind smile, rubbing the back of her head for a moment. Already she was struggling to speak further, as she was offered little to comment on.
“So, how long have you been here Arietta? Have you gotten used to things around here? Hopefully more than I have. I’m still struggling to grasp everything…”

did somebody order a mascot character?![Well, well. First day in and he’s already met a girl! He’s making great progress! How was his fur? Was it still as shiny and silky as it ever was? Wait… costume?]
…………? I don’t get it… Costume? What are you talking abou-
[Wait… where was he? …O-oh dear! He was on the other side!]
Y-Yes! I am Junes’ mascot; the devilishly handsome: Teddie!
“Hmm… Junes? I can’t say I’ve heard of it. What sort of company is that?”
Despite her uncertainty, she couldn’t stop smiling so long as Teddie was there infront of her. He gave a very cheerful vibe after all, with that appearance and personality.
“Does that costume not get awfully stuffy…?”

What was this…? Some sort of mascot character? Either way, Fate was sold, her face brightening up at the sight of him.

“Hello there~ That’s a very sweet costume you have!”
She quickly clapped a hand to her mouth.
“O-Oh, I probably shouldn’t call it a costume if you’re trying to remain in-character should I?”

Goodness… There was so much about this man that intimidated fate, especially the nose. Either way it’s not like he could help it, she told herself in her head.
“G-Good day sir! A pleasure to make your acquaintance…”
He bore resemblance to the typical old man you’d see in children’s fiction back on earth… But that nose was just too much.
“Fate? Faaaaate? Faaaaaaaaate. Fate.” The jiang-shi nodded enthusiastically. “Fate! You’re Master Fate! …Wait, you said you weren’t master… Master is Seiga. Fate is Seiga? No, Seiga is Seiga, and Fate is Fate! Got it!”
This type of strange repetition was normal for Yoshika. Seiga taught her to repeat things so she could remember them better. And every time she completed her odd ritual, Seiga would call her a good girl. Yoshika loved it when Seiga though she did good! “Confused? Maaaaaaybe. What is ‘confused’? I’m pretty sure I have to watch the pees. Or was it trees? Pee trees. Master would be happy if I watched the pee trees! I think. Hey, hey, Fate, where is this? Why are there so many pee treeeeees?”
“P-Pee… trees?” Fate was gradually taking some of this in, but some things still completely baffled her.

“I think they’re just called ‘trees’… Did you master really give you such an instruction? Or are you still confu—” She forgot that this girl didn’t seem to know what confusion was, now Fate was confused too.
“Uhm, confusion is, in brief, when you don’t know what’s going on or something in your mind isn’t making any sense. I think that would be the best way to explain it?”
Instantly Arietta panicked inwardly unsure of what to do but then realized it was mostly her fault for hiding behind her doll in the first place. Legretta and Sync were always telling her people would misunderstand if she did that.
Slowly she lowered her doll and just held it tightly to herself. “O-oh no…uhm please don’t worry…I’m just not very good with people…”
Fate gave a quiet chuckle, shaking her head slowly before smiling back at Arietta.

“Don’t you worry either. I was much like that when I was younger. I found it very difficult to talk to just about anyone, so I can relate in a way.” At the thought of her younger self, she began to wonder how old this young girl was, but Fate still wasn’t the best at social situations, and didn’t want to pass out any unsuitable questions in fear of being rude.
“Again, it’s a pleasure to meet you Arietta,.”

She looked at the other person for a while before slightly hiding behind their doll and speaking.
“He-hello…my name is Arietta the Wild. I-it’s nice to me you too…Fate.”
Fate blinked a few times at the girl, who she couldn’t make out very much of behind that doll. Fate grew a little concerned, seeing the girl hide like that.
“It’s a pleasure, Arietta… Are you okay? You look a little uneasy. I didn’t do anything to scare you did I?”

“Sorry, there are so many people popping up so quickly that it’s difficult to give you all an individual greeting.”

“If I might be of assistance please let me know. Please call me Fate. It’s a pleasure to meet all of you.”
